Charlie/Charles Dadswell 1901 Please
« on: Saturday 17 February 07 20:32 UTC (UK) »

Hi all.

I'm missing information on Charles/Charlie Dadswell b1878 after the 1891 census. I also have the same problem with his sister Edith Martha Dadswell b1862.

Both were born in Laughton & registered in Hailsham.

The last known whereabouts for Charles was Laughton 1891, the last known place for Edith Martha was Streatham, London/Surrey as a servant 1891.

I've checked the BMD for marriages & deaths between census' for both but nothing has come up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Could he be the 27 year old Railway Porter who says he's born Uckfield, boarding with the Trubridge family in Portswood, Hampshire?  RG13; Piece: 1068; Folio: 62; Page: 24

I notice Uckfield isn't very far from Laughton which might be a small village and so he claimed Uckfield as being the nearest large town? and probably within the Hailsham registration district.

I'll check up on that lead & see if it fits.

Thanks Phrishy!
