Elijah JOHNSON in Cambridge in 1841 or 1851 Census
« on: Thursday 05 June 08 12:42 BST (UK) »

Hi, Everyone,
Have just received through the post a will for Susannah JOHNSON in which she mentions a son, Elijah, whom I'd hitherto not known about.  I managed to download his 1854 will from TNA online, and I learn that he was a bookseller in Cambridge, his wife was called Elizabeth, and the childrens' names that I can decipher from the will (no idea how old they might be) are: John Elijah, Emma, Catharine Martha, William Elijah, Ralph Augustus; others might read as Frederick, Harry or Henry, Frank and Sirius.
But for the life of me I cannot find him in the 1841 or 1851 Census.
Anyone with sharper eyes than mine able to find him...?
Very best wishes,
keith

I was just going to post the details of HO107 1763 113 80, which are two Johnson families in the village of Isleham, who altohugh arent what you were looking for, contain many of the same names (incl an Elijah in each) and might be linked.

But Cat has come up with the right family in the meantine! well done. But Ihave posted anyway, in case this other lot are of any use to you.

Thanks SO much for all that swift help CatOne, Liz and Gallium,
I need to keep up to speed with these JOHNSON's - I've asked so many questions about them that I'm forgetting things now.  Must take stock and pencil things down on a large piece of paper

N.B. For some reason I wasn't getting further notification about posts on the Octavius thread.
