William Edward Parker ARCHER

William Edward Parker Archer was born in Bosmere District in Jan quarter of 1893.

He was killed in France in WWI

On the War Memorial in our village it shows that he was a Gunner and served with the RGA (Royal Garrison Artillery?) and died in 1917

The only likely suspect on the CWGC is a Private with the Suffolk Regiment who died in France in 1916.  His next of kin is listed as his mother Mrs F E Parker of Debenham (which ties in with Bosmere).

As the Local History Recorder for our village, I am researching the names on our War Memorial in Little Waldingfield, which is in the south west of the county.

Does anyone have any similar experience of researching War Memorials in Suffolk?  Can anyone offer any advice?  I have no idea why he is on our War Memorial if he came from across the county in Debenham?  Being so recent in terms of history, I may not be able to check the PRs to see if he married a local girl.  Any thoughts of ideas gratefully received  Wink

Thanks, SM ...
