Hi Scarlet - and welcome to Rootschat.

A translator friend of mine has had a go at this and this is what she can make out.

Domenico Rocky Mazza, son of Domenico and Maria (nee' Frassinetti), was baptised by me Lepoldo? Ferdinando, Priest.
Godparents were Joseph Mazza and Antonia Mazza, and ???? daughter Augustinia.
One thousand, Eight hundred and Forty Eight, ???day of February.

Hope this helps !

Hi Mobo

Thankyou for your welcome and thankyou for the translation.

It is definatley the person I am looking for as dates and parents are correct.  I am puzzled by the Augustina daughter line... another translator also suggested a daughter but I know little about her...something else for me to look into, very exciting.

Thankyou again for your help

It looks like Joseph and Maria, and their elder daughter Augustinia, all stood as godparents.

Happy hunting !!
