I wonder if anyone else is researching the Bugby & Burton families from Raunds? There seem to be an awful lot of them with a very limited selection of Christian names. I'm particularly anxious to find anyone else connected to James Andrew Bugby who was b 1835 (ish) - b Ruands, went to London, retired to Desborough... Maggott

Hi Sandy & many thanks for your post. I'm stuck forward and back with the Bugbys - I think James & Mary (nee Burton) had 2 children, Sarah & Abigail (b Raunds & London), Sarah was my g/grandmother but I don't know whether Abigail had children - she was Mrs Hunter & seems to have d young. Back a generation I haven't been able to find a maiden name for Rachel wife of Joseph Bugby (b 1804ish). LDS have got it wrong - she was b in Henlow Bucks. But so far I haven't got a marriage record for them. Any ideas? Incidentally I've got Eadys in my tree too- Sarah, late 19th cent Good wishes Maggott

That was quick - Sandy you're a star. Many thanks for both your posts. I'd be grateful for anything you've got on the Bugbys/Burtons. My Sarah was w of George Burton & b 1810ish, I reckon. I don't know who her parents were (yet). I found the marriage register - she clearly signed herself 'Sarah Eady' - looks as if she'd learned to write for the ceremony. But the priest has entered her as 'Sarah Heady'. He Knew Better, quite clearly Must walk the dog now - on the trail of Linnels tomorrow Best Maggott
