1861 Census Henry Read

I am trying to locate Henry Read his age would be approx 20 and he was born in Purley Essex. 
In 1871 he was married to Mary Ann Simpson with three children Arthur the eldest born approx 1866

Hi,

I have had a look on the 1861 census index for the Maldon area and I found the following but I'm not sure it's your chap as the age is not quite right.

Samuel Read      58
Eleanor Read      57
William Read       22
Henry Read        18
Eliza Read          16
Mary Read          13
James Read        11

They are living in Burnham and appear on folio 36

I also checked the 71, 81 & 91 census on line and found that your chap seems to give various places of birth

Anyway hope this is of use

I am really trying to find the marriage of Arthur and Mary Ann Simpson but i don't know when or where  so i keep running in to that brick wall.  Mary was from Southchurch in Essex. I know they were married in 1871 and had a five year old child so if this is the right one it narrows down the search a bit.

Couples tended to marry where the wife's family were as they were the ones who paid! Southchurch would be in the Rochford 1861 index. Jaq has the Rochford indices for both 1851 and 1861 so try sending her a PM?
