Aberdeenshire Mapping Tool
« on: Tuesday 20 February 07 22:09 UTC (UK) »

If you are looking for very detailed maps of Aberdeenshire go to www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk, click the Local Information page and then click on Interactive Map.

This tool lets you go to a very high level of detail - down to the outlines of individual buildings. The limitations are the small viewing window and, because it's an Aberdeenshire Council resource, Aberdeen City is not covered.

Hope you find it useful.

What  a beauty! spent a week or so looking for the relationship between Banchory Devenick, and Broadgreens and Upper 'Brandsmires' from the parish record of the birth of one of my ancestors, found it no problems on this great map, I can 'walk' the same road past the school as I imagine my two local progenitors did... It helps me get my head around the placenames in the 1841 census, now I can start to sort out the masses of Duncans and Duthies in the area way back then...
