Hi I am resurching the Sewell from Carlisle  to Northeast England I have traced my Grandparents John Sewell born 1829  married Mary Douglas born 1834 Kirkpatrick Fleming not been abel to trace a birth or a marriage for them would love to hear from anyone resurching Sewell so we can share info

Hello,

If it's any help to you, I have in my wife's family tree a Mary Sewell, born ca 1816 in Stanwix (Stanwick?) Carlisle.  She married a farmer turned grocer, William Dean, mid 1842, and in the 1870's the family moved to Middlesbrough.  Mary died early 1882.

The only other snippet I have is that Mary's mother was named Ann, born ca 1790, as she was living with Mary's family in Upperby (Carlisle) in 1851.

Don't suppose any of this is any use to you, but you never know.

John Sewell b carlisle 1828 Married Mary douglas b dumfies 1834
Robert Sewell b 1870 Married Mary Mcknight B 1871 her mother was Ann Nean
David Sewell b 1905 Maryport was my father he came to northeast in in 1930 with his 3 brothers  his uncles were already hear having come to the northeast in the 1800s I know that some of the Carlisle Sewells were living in Middles bourgh be cause i was in contact with a lady from there that said that Roberts older brother William Sewell b 1854 was her Grandfather sadly I lost contact with her

Are you doing a One Name Study on the entire family name or are you just after information on these particular individuals? 

If the latter is the case I will gladly move the post for you to a more relevant board which may help to generate a response for you.   Please let me have any information on possible locations (County etc.) so I can place it in the right board.
