Charles King b. 1830 in Berwickshire

Seeking parentage and birth place of my gggrandfather, Charles King. He is age 10 in 1841 census for Bunkle
& Preston living with Charles King and Janet Sligh King whom I suspect may be his grandparents, ages 60 and 70 (rounded - respectively). Charles migrated down to Newcastle-on-Tyne wherre he married Margaret Ann Scott. He died in 1906 in Morpeth, Northumberland.

Looking at this post, http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/BORDER/1997-11/0880327847, Charles is the son of Thomas, son of Charles and Janet. He mentions young Charles moves to Newcastle so it might be the same person.  Smiley

Charles and Janet married 30 July 1798 at Duns, Berwickshire (submitted). From the IGI, there's five children to the couple. Unfortunately, the majority of them are submitted entries.

Thomas (b. 1803, sub.), John (b. 1805, sub.), Alison (c. 1798, ext.), James (b. 1800, sub.) and Janet (b. 1807, sub.) All Duns again.

Thank you very much for your response. However, in the course of my searching, I have discovered there were two Charles Kings born in my Berwickshire time frame -- one in 1826 in Ladykirk (cited in your message) AND another one born in 1830 somewhere else in Berwickshire. Unfortunately, I have the correct marriage and death of "my" Charles King, but not his exact birth date and place except to know it is about 1830 in Berwickshire.  Embarrassed I suspect that these two Charles Kings will turn out to be cousins..... (Incidentally, the Charles King born in 1826 in Upsettlington, Ladykirk migrated North to Edinburgh and married there and probably died there after fathering four children.
