Hi Lesley,

James also had a brother William Christened 21 April 1819 and Robert Christened 5 September 1822 both in Tincleton The mother for these two was spelt Damans.

It looks as though Damans got married later.

Damans Pucket married James Small 26 November 1822 Tincleton

I have not found the Damans name but I have found these in Piddletown,
looks as if the first baby died.

Damaras Pucket Christened 9 March 1788
William Pucket and Damaras

Damaras Pucket Born 22 May 1790 Christened 27 June 1790
Parents William and Damaras

One more favour please, can you see any Holt's in Tincleton or Piddletown.
I'm thinking that James's middle name could be the clue to his father.
I don't see any on the 1841 Census for Tincleton but I have not yet checked in Piddletown.

Sorry, I have not found and Holts in Tincleton or Piddletown.  I checked for a marriage between Holt and Pucket but no luck there either. The BVRI is not complete so it may still be found Undecided
