I had already noticed that and did a search both in the 1871 and the death indexes without any luck.
If I have the right Perkes, Thomas and his wife - who has been Mary Ann rather than Ann since the 1861 census, are living in Down Hatherley and have two grandchildren with them William Charles Asher 8 and Thursa Mary Ann Asher 1, both born Apperley (could be Northumberland as there's a little mark next to it).
But I have this -
Hamilton Place, Charlton Kings, Gloucestershire Susan Baylis Head Wid 69 Laundress Gloucestershire Shurdington Frederick Baylis Grandson 15 Labourer Gloucestershire Pheltenham? Alice Perkes Grand-dau 11 Scholar Gloucester Charlton Kings RG10; Piece: 2659; Folio: 49; Page: 10
I'm wondering how come she didn't show up in the index?? and on checking it to see who is with Susan Baylis have discovered that Alice's age has been transcribed as 71 !!!
