On the 1851 census Alfred Cook is shown as being born c1850 in Lichfield.  As he d ???oes not appear on any BMD index, I am now going along the lines that he may have been baptised.  If I find the address would someone be able to tell me what Church is nearby so that I can look at the baptism records please.

It's very usefull for working out parishes and gives some very usefull info about the local churches.

Free BMD has a "Male" COOK, b. Lichfield Mar Q 1848.

It's possible to order the birth cert, and specifiy you only want it if the parents are Daniel and Caroline - if you apply to the local office, they don't usually make any charge if it's the wrong names.
