Looking for all Charles SYMONs (SYMONS)
« on: Wednesday 24 November 04 15:06 UTC (UK) »

Hi
Looking for all Charles SYMON/SYMONS in Angus C18th and early C19th.  Particularly any born around 1770 and anyone who knows anything about the 2 buried in the Howff.
Charles old soldier and pensioner, from Crathie and Braemar (born 1771 of John)
Charles husband of Isabel Grewer/Gruar, police turnkey

Also, anyone who knows anything about the Charles Symon (soldier) who had children with Betty Adamson in Kirriemuir 1810 to 1819 (he may be the old soldier in the Howff).

Unfortunately, the Charles in Careston (m Eliz Lamb) is not mine.

My Charles had a son Charles (illegt) in Kirriemuir in 1797 with Isobel Smith and disappeared.  Where did he go?  Off to fight Napoleon?  Is he in the Howff?

Any leads very gratefully received.
Lesley
