"Family & Local History Handbook"
« on: Tuesday 27 February 07 11:01 GMT (UK) »

I recently bought a copy (issue 10) of this very useful and entertaining book ... great for browsing when eating one's breakfast porridge !

I had it on the table when a friend called .. and to cut a long story short, she gave me several old editions as she had 'finished her family history'  (Oh to be so lucky !!)  I didn't quibble ...

... but now my question is, is this published yearly, or every two or three years ?  There is no publishing date inside that I can find (please note this, Robert Blatchford, editor, if you are an RC member !)  A date would be useful, then I could date them myself.

No, its edited and compiled by Robert Blatchford, sub-titled 'Genealogical Services Directory' ...

Its being advertised at the moment in several of the FH magazines ... and I happened to see issue 10 in the bookshop, browsed, and bought !

And the articles are about 2 or 3 pages each, thus ideal for breakfast reading !

It seems to be an annual publication but one site says all other editions are out of print.  I googled and you can see the covers and reviews of other editions.  Might be able to buy some second hand somewhere.
