Thanks Lones - but then I'll never be able to colour as well as you. At least this way we can share the work load  Wink

Wow, everybody, what super jobs you all have done! Didn't get a chance to check the forum until this morning and I'm just knocked out by all the beautiful renditions everybody has posted! Every one of them looks wonderful and the colour version is as usual just perfect. Thank you all, you are fabulous!

Cheers,
China
PS, it even looks good with sardine juice on it...

Hi China

Some great restores for you to choose from. Smiley

Tomkin - Sorry about the mouse and hope you've fixed it by now. There's nothing like a sardine sarny washed down with a mug of hot tea to put you back in a good mood or even better a nice cold beer. Grin Grin Grin

I hope you didn't mind me nicking youre technique to try out on this one, I certainly like the effect. Smiley

Hi David,
Sarnies went down a treat. Broken mouse resulted in me doing a system restore
and having to download again  10 1840 birth registers that disappeared with a complete folder. fortunately the restore brought the folder back. Where the registers went ?
     Don't ask, I haven't a clue what happened.

Hi China,

This is Lones coloured pic - and I just played a tiny bit (with her kind permission of course!)

I hope I haven't made a mess of it  Undecided

What would that be that Emmy is wearing around her neck, a kind of a chain-looking thing?
