Marston St Lawrence/Middleton Cheney
« on: Wednesday 14 February 07 14:02 GMT (UK) »

Hi everyone

Does anybody have access to PR of M-S-L and Middleton Cheney and could look me up the family of Francis and Bett (Elizabeth) Gardner.  Bett was born in Hanwell in 1782 as Bett Allett and Francis in Middleton Cheney circa 1781.  Francis was a widow (previously wife Catherine Sabin) at his marriage to Bett in 1811 in Hanwell.  I think Bett died in June of 1851, she is on the 1851 census as a widow in M-St-L with her Grand-daughter Elizabeth and I have a note in family records of a death of Mrs Gardener in June 1851, I'd like to cnfrim this was Bett please.  They lived in Middleton Cheney for some years and had the following children there

Mary Ann Gardner    1814
William Gardner       1815
James Gardner        1815
Isaac Allitt Gardner  1818

If anyopne has the MC records and could check for me and also for the death of Isaac A Gardner soon after birth or in childhood please.  Also the death of Francis prior to 1841

Lots to ask but big thank you to anyone that could help

There seems to be on the 1841 Census in Byfield

H.O.107-795-5 Pg 16 Folio 12

In the household of Thomas and John Lake Publican/Brewer besides others is
Francis Gardner aged 60 Lodger for night (dittoed) then ditto crossed out.

Maybe the reason why not at home in Middleton Cheney?

Hi Margaret

Quote
I think Bett died in June of 1851, she is on the 1851 census as a widow in M-St-L with her Grand-daughter Elizabeth

That threw me so just re-checked  it was Middleton Cheney 1851.

Could this therefore be Elizabeth's burial

Middleton Cheney Parish Church
15 Jun 1851
Elizabeth GARDNER aged 69
