HUSTON BURNS - Castletown
« on: Thursday 01 March 07 12:03 UTC (UK) »

Hi Everyone

Am searching for the parents of my ancestor Huston Burns.

I believe he was born in the Castletown area abt 1800, and married Elizabeth Liscoe abt 1825 in the Diocese of Meath.

Some of their children's names were James, Huston (b1825), William, John and Jane (b1829). On Jane's marriage cert 1853, we have Rev William Burns of Wexford, who I believe was her brother.

Any information would be appreciated.

Regards

Hi Mary

It is ours, a later generation. Trying for a couple of generations earlier.

Many thanks.

Hi Ashe and Mary,

I am a descendant of Houston and Martha you refer to. Their children were Mary Jane, John James, Houston Jr. David and William. I have marriage certificate verifying marriage date and Joseph Lundy as Martha's father. Am wondering if the Houston as child of Houston, b Castletown area abt 1800 married to Elizabeth Liscoe. Marriage certificate is Huston Byrne and father John Byrne of Lisgar. Short hop from Baileborough.

According to LDS site, Huston was a Byrns.

Perhaps we have a connection. It seems too much of a coincidence that the children of our Houston and Martha almost match names of possible aunt and uncles of what you have as children of Huston and Elizabeth.

Houston and Martha emigrated to Orange County NY and then to Steuben County NY.

Looking forward to further sharing.
