I have found a birth for 1924 of someone i think is a relative. But there are 2 people (one after the other on the register) with the same reg no. I thought this would mean twins but there are different surnames for the mother. Any idea? Cass

except muliple births.

Multiple births only have the same numbers if they are on the same page.  They could be on successive pages, even if registered together.

It is in the 1st quarter of 1923. There is a John Weighman whose mother was Coulthard and a William Weighman whose mother was Dixon. But they both have the reg no. 10b 1226 Cass

Hi Cass

I have a Mary Coulthard who married James Weighman in Whitehaven.  I know they had three daughters for definite, but maybe they had a son as well.  Mary was born in 1903, so it could make sense.

It's the Coulthards who are in my family tree.

No sorry Cass.  It's mostly the Coulthards who I'm up on.  Once it gets past 1901, it's harder anyway.  There are still quite a few Weighmans in Whitehaven.

Hi my James Weighman had Thomas and Mary as his parents and was not on the 1901 census but was in a newspaper article in 1913 as aged 12yrs. Cass
