Would someone kindly try to find James Louis GODFREY b 1879 Ware on the 1901 Census please?

James was single at the time.

I can't find him on my subscription database - have you had a look on the PRO 1901 index as different transcribers are used and you may find an entry

Did you ever find James? I've just had a look and can't see him in 81 or 91 either Huh Wondering if he was illegitimate and mum married after his birth so he is recorded as something other than Godfrey.

There is a Louis James Adams born Ware c 1877 who appears on all censuses in Ware with mum Ellen but I cannot see a corresponding Adams birth for him. Unfortunatley can't see an Ellen Godfrey to Anthony Adams marriage either! So he could be a red herring.

No, I have never found James GODFREY on the 1901 census.  He wasn't illegitimate and didn't marry until 1908.
