McGough in Manchester, 1851 / 1861
« on: Tuesday 23 November 04 13:02 UTC (UK) »

Patrick McGough came to England from Ireland in the 1840s or 1850s.  His daughter Margaret was born in Ireland c. 1838.  In 1859 she was living in Hulme, Manchester, and Patrick's occupation was then given as Architect.  Could someone look up the 1851 or 1861 census for the area, please, and find Patrick?

Thanks, I suppose it could be him.  I'm not used to the 1851 census - is this the only detail it gives?

I agree, it sells you short!
the 1851 gives you the same info as the 61/71 etc, the only "dodgy" one is the 1841.

Ask someone to look up the original image for the 1851

Now you know where he is, it should be a lot easier?
