Lovell - RMLI

William Lovell married Alice Joy in 1895.  He was a Corporal in the RMLI based at Chatham.
I cannot find William or Alice in the 1901 census nor can I find a death for Alice.
William, I thought, could be involved in the Boer War but is it likely that his wife went with him?
William was born 1872 in Goudhurst, Kent.
Any help greatly appreciated.  Smiley

My great uncle was also in the RMLI (Chatham) - I have found that the service records are held at the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

I emailed the archivist at the FAAM, who responded quickly - within a couple of weeks I received all his service papers - free of charge - a fantastic service. They are detailed and having these may give you a clue to Williams whereabouts.
