Mary A Farrell b1830 WestMeath

Hi All,

My second great grandmother Mary A Farrell appears in England census in 1861 and 1871. Place of birth is just Westmeath Ireland.

Can anyone help me find out about her in Ireland? A better place of birth perhaps? A number of likely families maybe?

She married Charles W Drury in 1853 in England.

Please try this link. Also if you can fill me in more info I can maybe check her up in a Book from Mullingar Family Origins. Have you got her mothers name or brother anything to Eliminate names as farrell is a common name in Westmeath.

I really have no more information than I have already given. I don't expect a definite but a short list of possibles would be nice.

She married Charles in Apr-May-Jun 1853 in Greenwich (1d 763) as Mary Ann Farrell.

I will certainly get a marriage cert when I can but right now nothing more than that.

If the 61 data is from HO107/1768/469/37 then thats them in one of their mistranscriptions (the name is actually Drury).

Could you give me a reference for the '51 census? I haven't managed to find her there yet. That would be really exciting! She should be about 21.

Hi All,

The certificate arrived. Not much more information. She is definitely Mary Ann Farrell. Her father is Peter Farrell farmer.

There's a few Peter Farrells listed in 1851. Nothing conclusive.

I've contacted someone on one of those sites you've listed Sylvia. Thank you.
