Mary Tinson Rutland or Leics?
« on: Tuesday 06 March 07 11:45 UTC (UK) »

I am tryoing to find Mary Tinson the wife of John Arnsby who married in Oakham on 14/2/1785 and had 4 daughters between 1785 and 1790, the only Mary Tinson I have come across who would seem to be the right age and within 100 miles of Oakham is Mary Tinson baptised 17/5/1753 in Melton Mowbray,Leics.  Can anyone find another Mary Tinson born between 1750 and 1769?

I don't know if you'd seen Thomas Henfry & Catherine's marriage on freeReg.  She is listed as of Thrussington and the marriage is by license.

There are 4 Skeath births in the IGI for Thrussington
Ann in 1723 and Mary in 1728.  Parents are John Skeath & Catherine & there are a couple from the 1660s too but nothing in the right time frame which may of course just be an issue with the IGI.

You should be able to track down some more information in connection with the marriage license.

Thanks Icsnor

I had missed the marriage on Free Reg before, thanks for finding it for me, at least it looks like Catherine came from around the area, there are so few Skeths around, it's hard to find much about the family from around that time so it's much appreciated.
