1st World War German Prisoners in Sussex
« on: Thursday 25 November 04 23:45 GMT (UK) »

I am endeavouring to discover the identity of a German national who was taken prisoner in the Great War and held in captivity in Sussex.   I know that he opted to remain in this country after the armistice and was employed as a valet at Tidebrook Manor.    I therefore assume that the camp where he was held prisoner was somewhere nearby Tidebrook.   Would there be a record of prisoners held in captivity and or their movement after release and would this be held at a local record office such as at Lewes.
