Hello Lisa
BOTP means Both of This Parish.

I would think you could be right with the births and marriages, and i see we have to dates  for William Walker, which one is the correct one i dont know.

Which pushes this side of the family back to the late 1600s,
John Lewin looks to be more of a problem and i am not sure how i am going to get around that one.

But all the hard work is really down to Jo, without her we would not have any of this info.  Grin

Children of William Walker and Anne Sanders
Elizabeth 16 Mar 1701
William 14 Mar 1704
Bethia 13 Jan 1705
George Saunders 2 Apr 1707
John 28 May 1712
James 17 May 1714
Ann 4 Oct 1717
Mary 6 Jan 1719
Sarah 9 sep 1722
Phillis 9 Sep 1722
John 9 Jul 1725

Which i think answers the question as to which is the right date for the marriage which would be 1700.

Nice to know that there is so much info on the IGI about the Chapmans/Burkets/Sanders. So you can go back pretty far with that side now.

Its just the Lewin side to sort now. Though the marriage says BOTP, it just means he was living there when they married. Obviously not baptised Penn or surrounding districts including High Wycombe.

The two deaths you mentioned in your other thread? I don't know why I didn't think of this before. The John buried 1843 aged 85 in HW could well be Elizabeths husband. So born c 1758. Though there was no mention of him being a widower but there was nothing to say he was not considerably older than her. Just a thought.

Sorry Lisa my mistake on that one there is only the one date.

Jo
The John Lewin that died 1843 i have a feeling this could be my John Lewins Father !
They are in the 1841 Census
John Lewin aged 80 ag lab
Sarah Lewin aged 65
Both born in County

in 1851 Chipping Wycombe
Sarah Lewin Widow aged 89 born Penn Bucks

Marriage John Lewin to Sarah Babb 4th Sep 1785 Penn
Witness Thomas Hancock and Ann Hancock
Thats why i thought that if the John in Iver was the one then the inscription may of mentioned Husband of and Son of if the parents was still alive !
Unless of course he is buried in High Wycombe and died before 1837, then of course i would only find him by looking through parish records, as i cant find him on the NBI.
John must of died between 1834 / 37 as the last child Elizabeth Lewin was born in 1834 Penn.
He has to be in that area i would of thought.
So your thought Jo is spot on. Proof thats a diffirent thing LOL !

Well if this John Lewin is the father
Then he was married in 1785 and the 1st child Sarah was born in 1793 in Penn then the family dissappear. i think into High Wycombe it self.
which means that my John Lewin must be born between 1793 to 1804.
and died in his 30s sometime after 1834 but before 1837.
His occupation was a Hurdle Maker, which i dont know if this means he would travel around a lot ? and therfore died someway from home ?
