SMALL in Co Durham/Northumberland

I am interested in any occurence of the name in these parts. I know already that families with this name moved into the area from Scotland, Ireland and Yorkshire, to name a few, and I don't anticipate being able to connect them to a single common ancestor!

However I would like to ensure each family line is clearly identified and I don't confuse one with the other. I live in hope that I will one day be clearly able to follow my family back beyond the definite marriage of my 3x great grandfather in 1808!

I don't have any Smalls that have settled in Northumberland yet, but I'm curious as to where your lot came from? I've got masses of them from Angus and Perthshire.
