Hi Sylvia, Yes she did marry at fifteen (age of consent was then 12 for a girl) although without parental consent as it states 'of full age' on her marriage certificate. I am as certain as I can be about her age as she consistent about it on censuses - she married in 1842, her age in 1851 is given as 24, 1861 as 34 and so on . She died in 1904 and her age at death is given as 77. I have had a copy of her marriage certificate for years and was very surprised to find how young she was, especially as William was 45! BTW this is a useful site www.dixons.clara.co.uk/Certificates/indexbd.htm for info on what you can draw from certificates. Have a good day tomorrow Cheers, Jan

Thanks Sylvia. Yes that is Hannah's mother. She isn't in Wirksworth in 1851 unfortunately, hoping someone will be able to find her. Regards Jan.

Hi Sylvia, Thanks for the random info - don't think there is any connection. My Allsopps were Wirksworth bound until my ggrandfather James left for Uxbridge in the mid 1880's. All to my advantage given John Palmer's excellent site. Hannah was widowed in 1870, but is still in Wirksworth in 1871, 1881 and 1901 ( in 1891 she was away staying with a daughter). I think she died in Belper district in 1904, yet to check the certificate. James is back in Wirksworth by the time of his death in 1940. Regards Jan

You're turning up plenty of Noon's, Sylvia. Even if they're nothing to do with Hannah they may be of interest to someone else - I know there is one other person looking for Derbyshire Noon's- and one day my elusive Hannah may turn up on a 1841 census (or Ann Griffin in 1851)! Jan
