Hi Sylvia, Yes you have the right ones. I did have them thanks , just can't find where they're hiding in 1851 Another puzzle is who on earth is the Joseph Griffin 60 W shoemaker in 1851 - Ann is still around in 1861 so it can't be her Joseph with wrong age, unless the W is a mistake Still doesn't explain where Ann is. I have their marriage in Wirksworth in 1839 thanks. Best wishes Jan

Sylvia you are a star once more . By presenting me with info I already had you made me look at it again. Of couse Joseph Griffin 60 (I imagine though haven't been able to check that that should be 40, an attrociously written 4 could easily look like a 6) W Shoemaker in 1851 is the right one. I now have this: B 1844oct14 GRIFFIN Ann(Wirksworth)[39] The age fits with her age in 1841 and gives me a birth year of 1805. It also explains why she suddenly becomes younger than Joseph in 1861 - he must have remarried another Ann, though haven't found the marriage yet. So thread finally closed. Never thought that would happen. Thanks again Jan

Just a quick update A search of this site http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~spire/Yesterday/index.htm
Turned up an 1826 and Jan 1827 Bastardy Papers for Ann Noon and Joseph Frost - so now have a father for my Hannah Awaiting a copy of the papers. Weirdly Ann is living nextdoor to a Joseph Frost in Wirksworth 1841 - could it possibly be the one

Hi Sylvia I find the whole thing strange. Ann Noon had two illegitmate children a Samuel in 1825 then my Hannah in 1827 father Joseph Frost. She then married a William Key/Kay and appears to have two sons with him (with her in 41) John and Joseph - not a family name so named after her former lover . William dies and she marries Joseph Griffin but names her son William. Then in 41 there she is living nextdoor to Joseph Frost
And the name Joseph Frost is so familiar to me I'm sure he's turned up somewhere else before
