How do I go about finding birth details for my Great great grandfather. He was born abt 1811 Hatton Gardens London. his name was Henry J Cross  Huh

Basically, it's a matter of looking at parish records, using copies available to you, and any originals which still exist and which either you can view, or another Rootschatter on your behalf. Census records begin at 1841 and can also be useful for determining a place of birth, and parents if you are lucky.  Most people on here have experienced pre-1837 research so if you have any questions after reading the info above, just ask (on the relevant county board, the Beginners thread, or the Common Room).
