Yes, there are also a couple of James Ballantines in Griffiths in Grange of Ballyscullion - one at Aghavary & one at Gillistown but the name Ballantine is otherwise not very common in Antrim which is why any reference is potentially helpful - so thanks again for volunteering this look-up service

PM  means private message.  When a person reaches a certain number of posts they can send Private Messages to other members.  Tell me (all of us!!) the area you are searching and then someone may come up with a clue as to graveyards. Regards, RosemaryJoan

HI Rosemary Joan,
I knew I'd go oh yes and I did.
Well I just received a death cert. for GT GT Aunt Janet Ritchie. She died in 1883 in Caugherty Ballyclug NI. I know her brother my Gt Grandfather James was buried in 1951 in Kirkinriola Cemetery.
Apart from finding burials in Ballyclug I'm also wanting Churches to ckeck Baptisms for 1854 and  1858 being both their birth years,if that makes sense.
Thanks for trying

Hello Valbeth,  If your g.grandfather was buried in Kirkinriola perhaps it was a family tradition.  However, not everyone could afford a headstone so Janet Ritchie might be there without a headstone and then it would be a case of finding where the records were kept.  None of my family had headstones in Ballyclug.  I see there are four headstones for Ritchie in 1st Broughshane Presbyterian,  If you go to 'History from Headstones' you will find them and can view them for £4.  As for baptisms, that would depend on the religious persuasion of your family.  It has taken me years to find my g.grandmother's baptism and then I discovered that the whole family were pabtised together in Ballymena C of I, the eldest being 8 years old.  So it's a case of looking at marriages, what church they were in, and working your way through all the Ballymena churches.  Keep asking the questions.  Someone is aways happy to help.  It looks as if Caughterty is now spelt Caherty and is quite close to 1st Broughshane Presbyterian Church.  Worth a thought.  RosemaryJoan
