Help! Missing person!

I am trying to trace a Lilian Brown Stabler. She was born on 2nd June, 1895 in Whitehaven and her birth was registered in the July of the same year, but it looks as though her surname was entered as stables!. Because of the spelling error I do not want to send for the birth certificate, but cannot find any trace of her or her family on the 1901 census with either spelling. Can anyone help please?
