 Huh ive got my fathers birth certificate and all his siblings except for one.there is no record for his brother james gallagher born tyrone 04/12/1921.i think im going mad,can anyone help please his parents where james gallagher and mary gallagher nee mccusker.The only thing i have is his marriage certificate,and he married in wales,so thats no good to me anyway.

Hi Cathlene,

May I suggest that you check a church or two in Co Tyrone using the addresses from Irish birth certificates?

Then you can ask one of the churches in the neighbourhood to see if they have his baptism entry to see what name his parents actually baptised him under and hopefully, a birth date.

Also, to ask them to find his parents' marriage entry as well.

That's the only way you could find out. OR put a wee request with this website www.familyulster.com to look up in the birth indexes to see if there is a James Gallagher in 1921. Only one pound per year!

still no birth certificate for my dads brother in tyrone ireland,i have had a lovely lady sarah who is my relation look for his birth record but,nothing.its as if he never exsisted.please some help.james gallagher born to james gallagher and mary gallagher nee mccusker around 1920-1923,they were living in omagh at that time please please help,hes the missing link in our familiy.

Have you tried searching on new LDS Pilot site index of Irish civil registrations. Should cover up to 1922. Remember that the birth could be listed as 'male' without a given first name or under a different frist name which was later changed.

Why dont you try try Scotlands people in case he was born in Scotland.

He may have been born or registered in another county, there was a wee spot of trouble around then!! Lots of people have to move etc..

Hi,
had same problem, then discovered his Mother went HOME to her own family to have the child. If his mother was not from Tyrone moght be an idea to search, her home address
