Hi, I've hit a dead end with my Pennycook/Pennycuick family. I have various family born in and around Peebleshire. Anyone have any of these (or similar) names in their tree around this area? My earliest entry is of a James Pennycuick who married Isabella Stewart. Not sure where either of these were born, but one of their children was born in West Linton, who then had his own children in Tweedsmuir, West Linton and then Broughton. As you can see a lot of their births were in this area, but James Pennycuick and Isabella Stewart were married in Glencorse, Midlothian.
regards, Alan.

hmm, i tried searching for pennyc**k born in peebleshire to see if i could find their kids in 1851 but the only family is of James and Helen, i can't see james and isabella.
how did you find out about the kids births? if you let us know the names i will look for them on ancestry because there is probably a spelling mistake going on there!

Hi all, Thanks for the info, I'll have to double check I have it all.
Here's what I have. I need to double check my sources, but it should be from either ScotlandsPeople or IGI.
JAMES PENNYCUICK born Abt. 1816. ISABELLA STEWART born Abt. 1811. Married 14 May 1837 in Glencorse, Midlothian, Scotland
Children: i. JOHN PENNYCOOK, b. Abt. 1835. ii. JAMES PENNYCOOK, b. Abt. 1839, West Linton, Peebleshire, Scotland iii. ALEXANDER PENNYCOOK, b. Abt. 1840. iv. WILLIAM PENNYCOOK, b. Abt. 1842. v. ARCHIBALD PENNYCOOK, b. Abt. 1844. vi. ROBERT PENNYCOOK, b. Abt. 1846.
Still having problems with the parents of JAMES PENNYCUICK born Abt. 1816. Can't seem to find a link to the many Pennycook/Pennycuick families in and around Edinburgh. Thanks again, Alan.

my grandfather was James Pennycook . His mother was Mary Lestrange. He came from Condoblin as far as I know. He had a brother Alexander and a sister Ethel Bonie?. He was born 1872? d 1953 in Hamilton NZ and was married to Sarah Davidson Smyth. He came to NZ to bring the Australian Court to the Exhibition in Christchurch. I'm new at this. Can anyone associate these details with theirs. I have other info
