Hi
Can someone possibly look up in Sussex, around the area of Steyning, Hove, Aldrington (most probably).
Elijah Miles
Emma Miles (nee Lambert) born Aston Warwickshire 1849
Florence Miles born 1878 Aston Warwickshire
Georgina Miles born 1889 Steyning
And maybe Fred, Jack and George Miles, not sure of birth places or dates

Florence Miles born 1878 Aston Warwickshire
Georgina Miles born 1889 Steyning
And maybe Fred, Jack and George Miles, not sure of birth places or dates
Have spent the last 30 mins on the 1891 census on line for your miles ancestors with the following results:
Elijah Miles – zilch
Emma Miles – 236 matches, 8 are born in Warwickshire - but non match up with others
Florence Miles – 145 matches, 4 are born in Warwickshire –2 of those 4 are 13 year olds (born 1878) but no details match up with other names
Georgina Miles – 15 matches, only 2 of which were born in Sussex aged 17 and 20 – so to old
Surname Miles in Sussex – 1,167 matches – but non in Steyning
So, where do we go from here – any further suggestions or information
Will have another look in the morning as it is now 1.36am – time for bed.

Just had another good look on the 1891 census for your Miles
"if it helps Florences middle name is Julia and Georgina's is Marion"
I used 'Miles' exact speling and Miles 'Soundex' spelling with the following results:
Of the 15 previously mentioned Georginas, there was only 1 Georgina M – but she was 26, so out of the question
Of the 145 previously mentioned Florences, there were 4 Florence J – but none had any names in family that matched your list.
At the moment we are not pressing the right buttons to locate them - you have to bear in mind though, that the 1891 on line index is only a transcription done by people whose natural tongue is not english - so silly basic mistakes are very frequent.
I wont give up, but will have to start looking for spelling variations
