I have to say that I have been concerned over the large gap in the baptisms of the children of John and Eleanor between 1764 and 1773.
Best wishes

Hi Graham,
I have a link with your family, their son James is my 3x gr. grandfather. Let me know if you want all the gen. I have on him and his family.
Best Wishes Kaz
Hi Kaz
My interest with the Haynes family is through the research on my Husselbee ancestors. I found that Joseph Husselbee b 1799 in Gnosall to Catherine Husselbee was the illegitimate son of Joseph Haynes and there are bastardy papers in the Gnosall records of Joseph Haynes siring an illegitimate son to Catherine Ethelby in 1799. The Joseph Haynes in question was a servant at Blakemore House in Norbury.
I believe that this Joseph was the son of John and Eleanor Haynes of Sheriffhales and a brother to your James.
I don't know whether any of this ties in with your research but would be fascinated to know what you have found about the family.
Best wishes
Graham

Hi Graham,
You'll have to forgive me, I made a little mistake yesterday, (hard day at work and all that) My James isn't the son of John & Eleanor, he is their grandson, and the son of the Joseph you are referring to.
Reading through all the information there is on this link, I have the same information, and like you I believe that John and Eleanor are Joseph's parents.
I haven't been able to find out when Joseph married James' mother Elizabeth yet, but their first child was christened in Jan 1801, so he may have been in service in Norbury in 1799. It's all very interesting, and it would be great if we could establish that they were the same person.
I have a little bit of info. from a poor law entry dated 25th June 1804, it was a settlement examination for Lilleshall, he was 32 yrs old, married to Elizabeth with 2 children at the time. I wonder if we were able to get a copy of it, it might give us more info.
