I don't know if it is the same person, but a George Wilks is listed under Curriers and Leather Sellers in Chelmsford in White's Directory of Essex 1848.

Please do you have any info on Arthur Wilks b. 1902 - son of Arthur Wilks b. 1863 Writtle - this Arthur is son of Henry b. 1837 Writle.

No sorry my research was through Henry's brother William.

I can tell you that Henry's mother is Mary Wood born 1807,I do have a little infomation on her if you want it.

Hi Alan,

Thank you for your reply and yes I would like info on Mary Wood please.
Also I cannot find where or when  George Wilks was born - would you have any info on him?
My line is from Henry's ( b. 1837) son Arthur. George and Mary being my Gt. Gt. Gt. Grandparents
Interesting that you have Groves in your line as well, as my husband is researching Grove(s) mainly in Essex.
