Hello All, Does anyone have any info on Richard Armstrong who wed Martha Games in Tempsford on 22nd Jan 1679? There may be a Croxton, Cambs link for a son, as follows: Johannes (John) chr 13th Oct 1683 in Croxton. There are LDS entries for a possible father of "Tempsford-wed Richard " - a Richard b1654, but, as a wise researcher has just pointed out, this could just be wishful thinking. All input gratefully received. Bob

For some time the team of Copyright Editors has been removing breaches of copyright and sending detailed personal messages to the member that had posted the information. Due to the volume of posts and members this is now impractical. Messages in breach will simply be deleted and this notice posted. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but are sure you will appreciate the importance of this issue. Obviously the Croxton vicar was of a Latin bent! However, three different mothers for the three different children.
There are two marriage entries for Richard and Alice, an extraction and a member entry, so whilst the marriage is OK, as the date is set out in full and is consistent on both entries, the birth for Richard on the member entry is a red herring, as the LDS member has simply subtracted 25 years from his age at marriage and assumed he was born where he married:

There are also marriage entries for Richard and Martha, one extraction and one member entry but the same comments apply regarding the extrapolated birthdate and place for Richard: Information removed due to copyright violation. See http://www.rootschat.com/forum/copyright.php for more details

Nothing for Richard and Ann.
The dates suggest that maybe Martha Games died, and Richard married again to Alice Flanders.
But what about Richard and Anna? The birth of Anna of whom they were parents comes after Richard's marriage to Martha - so perhaps (a) mistake and Anna's mother was Martha, not Anna or (b) there were two Richards baptising children in Croxton.
I've checked Boyds etc for marriages in all counties, but only the 1694 marriage to Alice shows up. Can't find a burial for Martha on the NBI. All other on-line sources now exhausted.....

Bob, the Tempsford PR marriage entry does not give any further details other that his name is spelt ARMESTRONG.
