Edward Fagan was married to elizabeth Murphy and his father was Patrick Fagan. Patrick was deceased at the time of marriage which was 1882. Edward and Elizabeth are not on the 1881 census. Elizabeths sister is Sarah Murphy who is married to James Fagan. Edward and Elizabeth had the following children, here are there ages at 1901 Edward 14 Michael 12 Rose Ann 9 Patrick 7 and Sarah 5.
Michael went on to marry an Elizabteh Holberry in 1919. I have their children too if you are interested.
Edward died in 1933 and is buried in the public cemetary in Workington. Michael died in 1936 and is buried in Gorton - Manchester.
We are trying to find out more information about Patrick who we think probably came from County Down, Rathfriland. This is not confirmed though and we are still trying to find a link.

I haven't looked into the Murphy line yet as I've only recently found the Fagan one. However, looking at the marriage certificate I think you are correct, as they are listed as from Skinners lane, and her father is Michael. I am however fairly sure that I cannot find the Fagans.

Interesting that the men worked at the Ironworks and the women at the Tinworks. I had women in 1851 who were Tinplate Workers.
I can't spot your FAGANs in 1881 either.

It is my husband who is decended from Edward and Elizabeth via Michael as you may have guessed. Thank you for that info about Elizabeths parents. Is it correct though that Sarah was born is Ireland? The family moved around? I'm really struggling to find anything about Edward znd James father Patrick and I don't know who their mother is.
I had put info on one of the other posts that I thought I had seen James on the 1901 census, but I now know I am wrong. Sorry about that.
