Hello, Iam searching for my ggg grandfather Thomas Wilson Gray born abt 1819 in West Boldon. He married an Elizabeth Thompson I think in 1843, their first child, Elizabeth was born in 1844 in Hetton. They went on to have a further 7 children all born in Sunderland: William born 29/9/1845 (my gg grandfather) George born 1848 Margaret born 1851 John born 1854 Thomas born 1857 Ann born 1860 Joseph born 1867 On the 1851 census the family are using the surname Gray and are living at 13 Matlock Street, Thomas's occuaption is a Black and Whitesmith By 1861 they are just using the surname Wilson and are living at 23 Pann Lane, Thomas is now a 'provision dealer' The family continue to use the surname Wilson on the 1881 census and are living in High Street. My gg grandfather, William, is given the name William Wilson on his birth certificate and his father, Thomas gives his name as Thomas Wilson Gray. When William marries in 1969 he calls himself William Wilson Gray but appears on all the census after until his death in 1889 as just William Wilson! Can anybody find Thomas in 1841 or does anybody recognise this family!
