John Robson born 1840? Reposting

Hello All
If anyone while checking the parish Records come's across the following
Baptism would they please let me know as I cant find his Birth
Registration or Baptism, I have had all the John Robson Birth Registrations
checked from 1837 to 1841 but he is not there.

  John Robson born 1839/40 Parents John Robson & Eleanor Urwin.
  his siblings were
  Robert born Newcastle 1827
  Jane born Newcastle 1829
  Mary Ann born Norton Co Durham 1831
  Elizabeth born Norton 1833
  Douglas Born Newcastle 1835
  I have all the above Baptisms
  in 1841 the family lived at Hetton-Le-Hole
  John was aged 1, John had a sister Margaret born Oct 1841 in Hetton,
her Birth is registered.
  in 1843 Armstrong was born in Hetton I also have his Birth Reg, 1846
Richard was born and died in 1846 his Birth and Death are Registered,
both Armstrong and Richard were baptised together in July 1846 at
Hetton, as well as not having Johns Baptism I also do not have Margarets it
could be they were Baptised together in another Parish,
  as surely they would have been Baptised with Armstrong and Richard.
  in 1851 the family are living in Sunderland
  John is aged 11 born Sunderland I have checked the Baptisms he is not
there.
  John married Eleanor Ann Hall in Jan 1860 in Sunderland, he died in
1865 age 26.
  John is my direct Line his Birthdate and Baptism is a Brickwall.
  Maybe someone has an idea on this.

I do not know if you are aware that Although Registration started in July 1837.It was only voluntary, it seems it took another 38 years to discover (via the census i think) :-\that people were not registering births.So it was only in 1875 that  it was  made compulsory.If a birth was not registered within six months,a fine was imposed.I would think that included Marriages and deaths as well.

But what is odd is that John Robson's sisters birth some 15 or so months later was registered as well as brothers in 1843 and 1846 so why should he not be registered or worse not baptised, very odd.

Going by the above in Sunderland and the map.I have looked at the births 1839 & 1840.There are a few John Robsons registered (not born)in Newcastle-upon-Tyne & Gateshead  .Along with a few other Robsons,someone with more knowledge of the area might help as to where he was likely to have been registered.When you were looking for The birth registration of John did you check on "Next Page" Because one of the 1/4 of Johns continues on one.

Thanks for your reply, I have spent a fortune on birth certs 1837-41 and had all the st Catherine index John Robson's checked and he is not registered what concerns me is that if I cant find a baptism either, could he have been adopted into the family which would explain everything.
