Brilliant, that's the family I'm looking for. Shame that their mother is not on the 1841 census just to confirm the births I have found on the IGI. Many thanks. Cass

Doesnt seem to be a marriage yet transcribed ...

Given the oldest child in 1861 is born 1855, that narrows it down.

Looking at the Ruths of the right sort of age in 1841 ...

Only the lasses marked * have FreeBMD entries - but all are incomplete (*less than 4 couples)

So, you could try searching the full GRO Index on Ancestry for Henry ....

Bridekirk was the church for people born in Papcastle, so the Stothard LOWRIE on the IGI looks a good bet.

The NBI has a Mary LOWRIE buried at Bridekirk 16 Sept 1832 aged 44 ... also 9 Sept 1832, Thomas aged 6.

This certainly appears to be the right Mary Lowery as the last birth I could find was July 1832 and she died 2/12 later alongside her son Thomas. I suppose there will not be records on how they died in those days?? Might be due to exhaustion as she had 12 children in 19 years. Cass

Have exhausted the GRO - cannot find a marriage for Henry Lowery to Ruth. But there are so many different spellings and the writing is hard to decipher as the records get older. Does anyone have access to parish records for Bridekirk? Cass
