At least some of Elton PR is on the IGI but I can’t tell from the batch number exactly what it covers. But it is on the BVRI as well with the same two Ebbutts as on the IGI but there’s no Frances I'm afraid.
There are burials at Elton of Mary Ebbutt aged 9 on 25 March 1815 and Samuel Ebbutt aged 3 on 16 Oct 1821 (see IGI for his christening)
The parents on the two baptisms, George and Amey, do not appear in Hunts Marriage Index, so were probably married across the county boundary in the black hole of Northants, where I am afraid I have never dared to tread
As Mary would have been born at about the same time as your Frances, and as she doesn't appear to have been christened in Elton either, it might be worth checking the parish register microfilm at your nearest LDS Family History Centre of which there are many in Oz, to see if she is named as the daughter of George and Amey.
Also you could try a look up request on the Northants board for a marriage of George and Amey to try to pinpoint a Northants parish where Frances might have been christened.
Regards
David

Hi Eds
Pleased that you've found her - thanks for keeping us updated.
With the new spelling variations I've had another look in various places.
There was a George Ibbutts age 61 buried at Elton on 20 Aug 1835
In 1851 census HO107/1746 folio 557A Elton Amey Ebbett head widow 73 Ag lab widow- pauper b Northants Thornhaugh
I would repost on the Northants board asking specifically for a Marriage Index look up, possibly in Thornhaugh
Regards
David

Is it your lucky day!
Just noticed that Thornhaugh marriages are extracted onto the IGI. Found it by just putting in the batch number and "Amy"
15 Nov 1802 George Ebbut and Amy Ringston
I would still ask for confirmation on the Northants board as the Marriage Index does give quite a bit of detail - you might get George's parish of residence
You've got almost as many spelling variations as I have with my Surkitt/Cirket/Circuit/Surquett ancestors!
On to the next brick wall!
Regards
David

Ahhhhh David, tis indeed my lucky day and all thanks to you. The info you gave on the previous message was excellent. I went to the FHC today and lo and behold there was a film in of PR transcripts of various Parishes and Thornhaugh was one of them. However it was recorded as Amy Kingston. So, another little mystery to clear up. I shall ask on the board. BTW the entry said George was of Elton
Thank you so much for your help.

Excellent!
So two transcripts have interpreted her name differently Kingston/Ringston. I prefer Kingston, if only because there are just 38 Ringstons on the IGI!
But the detail that George was from Elton is just what I was hoping you'd find (and which is the bit that is usually missing in my own research!)
Good luck. Shout if you need any more Hunts look ups, but I'm afraid I don't do Northants which is a complete mystery to me, but there are plenty of excellent researchers on that board who I'm sure will be able to help if needed.
David
