Piddington family of Aston Rowant
« on: Thursday 22 March 07 09:21 GMT (UK) »

Hi,

Wonder if anyone can help, in the 1851 Census I have a Joseph Piddington of Aston Rowant, age 24, living in All Saints, Winchester, Southampton with his wife Sarah, 26, and daughter Sarah 2.

Is anyone researching the Piddingtons of Aston Rowant that I could link up with and share information?

Thank you both,  Smiley

I will contact using the link from Emsworthy, with grateful thanks, and the added information from Debbie G will help in tying down connections I'm sure.

Again a big thank you to Debbie,

I will have to sit there with pen and paper and start working out family relationships later,.

Thank you also for the kind offer to look up John and Ann, but after a message from the contact recommended earlier by Emsworthy, I have discovered that they actually appear on the 1841 census page I had already downloaded, I had not noticed them as they were on the next census page  Embarrassed and I did not at that time know the family connection, though it would have been a fair guess as their ages tie up nicely with being parents of James.

Again a big thank you to both DebbieG and Emsworth for their help.

Hi again   Cheesy

just a few earlier bits from the registers of Aston Rowant

baptisms start - 1789

1736 May 9th Richard s/o James
1740 Apr 7th John s/o James
1766 May 11th James s/o John
1768 Apr 24th John s/o John & ... of Kingston

only 1 earlier marriage

1784 Jul 12th

That is all there is - we seem to be missing some marriages and burials - I wonder where they are   Huh

Hey Emma - no problem at all - it was a good look-up which had most of the info I found in the registers - if I hadn't already typed most of it out I wouldn't have bothered posting it, as I had, I thought I might as well
