Hawkers Eckington

My husband's grandmother, Mary Ann Hawker (nee Davies/Davis) born c1874 Aston, Birmingham, visited "family" with boat-building business at Eckington as late as the 1960s. She lived into her late 90s. Do you think this would have been "Hawkers" or "Davies"?
Another Hawker we are attempting to trace is "Uncle Tom/John" who, supposedly started a "riding stables / livery stables" in Toronto, Canada in the early/mid 19th century.
Are there any suggestions out there please? Always hoping!
