Seeking info on John Bannister  aprox 18  in census year,  born orsett area,known to be a gardner in later life and son of William Bannister.

The 1871 details are wrong (born Orsett, Essex) as the John that Frances gave you is living in Grays in 1881, he is a gardener aged 38 born Doddinghurst!

Scatty asked for the 1861 census and that is what I posted, I have just had another look and can see nothing wrong Undecided  Maybe I am just thick today Roll Eyes In her request Scatty mentioned that John was a gardener in "later life" so thought it reasonable as we all know how occupations can change from census to census.

Huh i'm agreeing with you.....I said the 1871 details are wrong not your 1861 details

Scatty stated that he was born Orsett (Scatty got that from the 1871 census as far as I can see) and i'm stating that your 1861 where he was stated as being born Doddinghurst is correct..............

thats why I supplied the 1841....
