Hi,
This is a record of marriage found on IGI
Isaac Hodgson and Elizabeth Bailey
11/06/1810
Kendal Westmoreland
I know that Isaac Hodgson was born in Liverpool ( dont know date as yet )
I found Elizabeth on 1841 census Liverpool age 60 so her approx date of birth was 1780/81
If it is possible would someone be able to find her birth record in Kendal.

Hi,
Andrea, have not seen original record of marriage, but I know someone who contacted Kendal library and was told Isaac was born Liverpool and was a joiner so witnesses may help if available. Will check it out.

Hi Victoria,
Don't know if you're still trying to find Elizabeth Bailey, but if her age had been rounded down in 1841, have you considered Betty Bailey baptised 10 Mar 1776. This would have made her 34 at the marriage.
In my experience, I have also found that the Kendal area is pretty well covered on the IGI, even for non-conformists. The records for the chapels in the villages in the Parish of Kendal were transcribed into the records of Holy Trinity yearly, and all appear as 'KENDAL' until 1813.
I known the area quite well, so please let me know if you want any more general info.

I have not researched this part of my tree for some time. I had a look at my notes and found the record you mentioned.
These are what I have.
Christening.
Elizabeth Bailey. 14/08/1774
Kendal Westmoreland.
Father John Mother Elizabeth.
Betty Bailey 10/03/1776
Kendal Westmoreland
Father John Mother Agnes
Elizabeth Bailey 25/12/1799
Kirkby Stephen Westmoreland
Father William Bailey Mother Margaret Couplin
The record of christening for Betty Bailey 1776, may well be her.
I have record of Isaac Hodgson Birth 17/09/1771
Christening: 13/10/1771 St Nicholas Liverpool Lancs England
Father Isaac Hodgson.
Their first child Christopher Bailey Hodgson was Christened
02/03/1814. St Peters Church Liverpool.
If Elizabeth had been born 1776 she would have been age 38 when he was born.
I must say I have lost track of where I was up to for this line of the family tree.
If you could suggest how I would find record of names of parents for Elizabeth ( Betty ) Bailey John Bailey and Agnes ?? I would appreciate help.
It`s a pity names of parents on married record where not given.

So, realistically we are looking at the 2 baptisms in Kendal, but the problem is that they are very close together timewise. Even if you had a death certificate, I dont think you could be certain.
Have you investigated the siblings of either family? It should not be to onerous a job to try to find the marriage entry, even though in 1810 the marriages from surrounding villages were still being transcribed into the Parish records. I imagine that any witness would be either family or friend of Elizabeth?
