Flying the flag for Yellowbellies!

Locating Joseph MUMBY 1750 onwards
« on: Wednesday 02 July 08 23:02 BST (UK) »

Right everyone, see if you can help me solve this one!

My five times great grandfather, Joseph MUMBY was baptised on 14 Mar 1707 at Bigby.

He married Elizabeth FORGE on 7 May 1741 at Bigby and had three children:
Mary - baptised 1 March 1741
Sarah - baptised 1 April 1744
John - baptised 28 January 1749

Sadly Elizabeth died and was buried on 5 February 1749. Joseph marries again a year later on 8 May 1750 to Sarah DANNET (she was from Owmby at the time).

That's the last I hear of Joseph  Undecided

Any ideas where he could have disappeared to?

Hi Rover

I think the best thing is for you to contact the Lincolnshire Archives,  see link below.  They may be able to help you.  Their website looks quite interesting.

I have Mumby's in my family too, but I can't connect them to yours. although I've only got back as far as the birth of my g.g.g.grandfather about 1780.  I do know Mumby was and still is a very common name in Lincolnshire.
