« on: Tuesday 27 March 07 10:51 BST (UK) »

Hugh McLEISH (? - bef 1851) m Agnes DUNLOP(cir1789-after 1861) in Lochwinnoch in 1821. Hugh is a Victualler, a Travelling Agent.
;DAgnes lives in Bridgetown, Glasgow in 1851 and probably until at least 1861.
Their known children are Simon 1822, Martha 1824, William 1829 and Barbara 1831.
This pair is one of my many brick walls. Sad
Does anybody have more on them? Cheesy

I saw your post on Hugh McLeish and Agnes Dunlop.   My McLeish family is from Lochwinnoch, too.  Have you found any additional info on Hugh?

Not Really.
As you see, several kind contributors had a go at it, and their information is correct for this family, but Hugh and Agnes are still brick walls. Hugh was born Circa 1800 Glasgow, and Agnes Circa 1796 in Ireland, (we think).
How are you connected to Hugh?
He is my 3rd Great Grandfather (through his daughter Martha).

Hugh and Agnes were married in Lochwinnoch.  Simon and Martha were also born there.  My McLeish family was in Lochwinnoch at the same time.   I'm trying to figure out the relationship between all of the different McLeish families there at the time.  There weren't too many.  Do you know for sure where Hugh was born?  I don't find any record of his birth in Lochwinnoch.    Are you in touch with any direct male descendants of Hugh?  It would be interesting to compare DNA.
