Quakers Records

Hi,

I have some Quakers in my family around the mid to late 1600's from Clophill. Are there records (BMD) avaliable for these? Where would they be held? Local record office? Or National Archives?

I don't really know much about Quakers at all.

Thanks
Jim

If you go into the LDS site, www.familysearch.org , - click on Library - then Family History Library Catalog - Keyword search - put in Society Friends Bedfordshire and you'll see the records on microfilm that are available to order from, and viewing at, your nearest LDS Family History Centre.

Society of Friends records are extremely good. Just google Society of Friends and there are plenty of sites that will tell you loads about them - but I suggested this when you asked a similar question in November.

Hi David,

Thanks for that, I've done the search on www.familysearch.com and some results have appeared. I know this may sound silly of me, but what do i do now? What are the options from here?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jim

Make a note of the film number(s) of the films you want to view then go into your nearest LDS family history centre and order them. They'll let you know when they arrive (usually about a month) then you go back and view them.

If you don't know where the nearest FHS is to found there's a list on www.familysearch.org
