Thank you for your replies.  I have the following information from the 1841 cencus when he was listed as living in East Street Beaminster aged 40 and was a weaver.  His name was spelt" Boutcher".  His wife was Annah aged 36 and his cildren were listed as John aged 14(an ap hair d) andFrederick aged 4.  John is not listed in the births at Beaminster so I think I have made a wrong assumption.  I would apprecate any further help you are able to give me.
